In the past 20 years, the company has successfully executed a number of projects in Naval Architecture/Marine/Offshore Engineering. The projects range from Design and Analysis of Marine Crafts and Systems, Design and Installation Supervision of Facilities, Sub-systems to Research and Development in Ship Power Plants, and Stability and Structural Analysis of Ships and other floating structures for offshore Oil and Gas prospecting.

Our History

Douglas Technologies Nigeria Limited was formerly known as Ibiba Engineering Systems Team Limited. The company started in 1994 as a Consultancy firm with main businesses in Marine & Offshore systems Design and construction/installation supervision, and related technical services. In 2011, the company upgraded its registration to a Limited liability Status with expanded business scope.

Presently, the company is embarking on;
• Naval Architecture: Design and Analysis of Ships and other Marine Engineering Systems/Structures
• Hydrodynamics and structural analysis of offshore/subsea facilities with particular focus on FPSO Systems
• Research and Development Projects in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering
• Design of Marine Power Plants and Auxiliary Machineries and Systems
• Quality and Safety Assurance Inspection/Assessment of Marine/offshore Engineering Systems.
• Marine Engineering and Operations Manpower Development Services
• Marine Warranty Survey Services
• Computer Aided Design, Drafting and Engineering Documentation

The company’s operations are supported by adequately qualified and experienced Professional Engineers. The Managing Director (Principal Consultant) and some of the senior consultants are registered and authorized by relevant International and Nigerian statutory bodies to carry out Marine/offshore Systems design and analysis.

The Group Head

Dr. Ibiba Emmanual Douglas, the Group Chairman is a specialist on FPSO and Subsea Systems who is registered with the following Professional Engineering bodies:

1. Engineering Council of the United Kingdom – Chartered Engineer
2. Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME), USA, Corporate Member.
3. Institute of Marine Engineers (Institution of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology) – Corporate Member.
4. American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) – Corporate Member.
5. Society of Marine Engineers and Naval Architects (Nigeria) – Hon. Secretary and Fellow
6. Institute of Shipping Technology – Fellow
7. The Society of Underwater Engineers – Vice President (Africa)
8. Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) – Registered Marine Engineer.

Dr. Ibiba Emmanual Douglas also participated in the European Community’s Safe Design, Operation and Regulation of Ships (SAFEDOR) project as external delegate. He has participated and presented technical papers at several national and international conferences and workshops.
